Surface Lab (5-028)
Confocal Microscope and Tweezers (Quorum Technologies and MMi)
This system is designed for visualization, exploration and analysis of multi-channel high performance 3D imaging. Attached to the confocal is the MMI Optical Tweezer which combines the capabilities of laser technology and microscopy for contact-free microscopic particles manipulations.
Brewster Angle Microscope – BAM (NanoFilm)
Using a laser and a CCD camera, the BAM allows us to exploit the Brewster’s angle phenomenon to record real-time images of two-dimensional structures in monolayer films.
Interfacial Shear Rheometer (KSV)
This rheometer allows us to quantify the shear stress at fluid interfaces.
Langumuir Troughs (Nima)
We have two Langmuir troughs in our facility that are indispensible in our study of interfacial phenomena.
White Light Scanning Confocal System (Zeiss)
This confocal microscope provides rapid and precise imaging and measurement of three-dimensional structures.
Surface Force Apparatus (Surforce LLC)
The surface force appartus is an instrument used to measure the interaction force between two surfaces.
Ellipsometer (Sopra)
The ellipsometer allows us to measure the thickness of thin films using a white light source.
